Bouldering in Fontainebleau anyone?

 

For those that have heard of Fontainebleau it will need no introduction, for those that haven’t yet discovered its delights, you are in for a treat!!

 

Since last summer we have enjoyed great success in providing our customers with numerous bouldering trips, from local Gower crags to North Wales and the Peak District. Now we are providing a trip to the incredibly famous boulders of Fontainebleau. Fontainebleau is a beautiful village situated approximately an hour south of Paris and is one of the most famous venues for bouldering in the world. There are a phenomenal amount of boulders of all shapes and sizes, and it offers us climbers a huge, and at times, random selection features and textures to scale.

 

 

The trip is booked for the 23rd of August for 7nights (Saturday 23rd – Saturday 30th).

 

We have booked accommodation at The Maisonbleau (see http://www.maisonbleau.com) a new gite complex in the heart of Fontainebleau, just minutes away from the major climbing areas and the magical Fontainebleau forest. Maisonbleau offers a friendly a relaxed array of gites, set within a complex of a 17th century farmhouse and 2500 square meters of stunning gardens in a peaceful village location, just 2.5km from Malesherbes.

 

We have booked all 3 gites, which also come with a chill out room, communal area, indoor bouldering room and slack line (should the weather be wet).

 

There are limited spaces – 8 in total so early booking would be recommended.

 

The cost is £220 and includes:

·        Accommodation from Saturday 23rd Aug – Saturday 30th August

·        Professional and experienced coaching

·        Guidance on technique

·        Bouldering advice (problem selection, the on-sight, working routes etc)

·        A low coach-customer ratio of one-four

·        Breakfast

·        and of course plenty of bouldering pads!

 

Although we aren’t at liberty to provide transport, arrangements can be made as a group once numbers are confirmed. An approximate cost for ferry charges and petrol is an extra £90 per person based on 4 people sharing a car.

 

To secure your place on the trip a minimum deposit of half the overall cost will be required (this is non-refundable).
